Summer has been well underway. I hope you have had the chance to enjoy this time.
This month City Council has a shortened meeting schedule. This newsletter provides an update on the items that will be before City Council on Wednesday, July 31 and some ward specific updates. This includes:
- Brighton Concept Plan amendments
- Updates related to Saskatoon Transit, including fixed route service in Brighton and the start of Fire Community Support Program
- Exciting updates regarding Bus Rapid Transit
- Zoning Bylaw Amendment to Remove Minimum Parking Requirements

Happy New Year! I hope you have had a wonderful start to 2024 so far.
To kick off the new year, every household in Ward 8 should have received a printed newsletter from me, reflecting on 2023 and looking forward to 2024.
This month we will take a look at updates for the ward, including choosing new black cart bins and an update on the first provincial emergency shelter. City Council updates include decisions related to the Downtown Event and Entertainment District and the Accessibility Parking Program.

October and November Newsletter
This month's newsletter provides an update on both October and November City Council meetings and a look ahead at budget deliberations, which begin on Monday, November 28, 2022. Topics of interest include transit, Downtown Event and Entertainment District, climate action updates and changes to City Council meeting schedules.
I also want to take an opportunity to highlight the admission model changes at the Remai Modern. In October, admission is now by donation to the Remai Modern! This is due to a generous donation from the Frank and Ellen Remai Foundation. I hope you get a chance to head over to the space and check out the new atrium piece by Nick Cave. This piece will be unveiled formally next week.
