With spring on its way it's the perfect time to learn more about the new green cart program rolling out this May. Read more about this new program later on in the newsletter.
This months newsletter includes updates from Council related to a Downtown District Plan. Local updates include consultation around proposed changes on McKercher Dr and celebrating a Ward 8 winner at the Living in Harmony awards.
I also want to wish all those celebrating Ramadan, a Ramadan Mubarak.
Sincerely,
Sarina

Green carts will also come with a kitchen pail and tips for how to use the bins. Collections will begin in May, so don't forget to check the schedule for your first pick-up. Please take time to share your feedback on these proposed options. Brighton Art InstallationsTwo new public art pieces are coming to Brighton. Living in Harmony awards recognize outstanding achievements in contributing to the elimination of racial discrimination in our community. They are presented annually on or around the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (March 21). Learn more at saskatoon.ca/LivingInHarmony. City Council MeetingsDowntown District PlanThe vision for a Downtown Event and Entertainment District (District) is anchored around a new event centre and a new or expanded convention centre, made more accessible through the future Bus Rapid Transit System (BRT). The development of a comprehensive plan aims to establish the District as a hub for entertainment and cultural activities, with vibrant public spaces that are welcoming and accessible to everyone. This Plan will guide public realm design for streets, plazas and other public spaces. It will develop a complementary land use plan for surrounding properties, a plan for transportation network components and facilities, a plan for any required underground and surface utilities/upgrades, as well as any recommendations related to components which may impact, or be impacted by, funding, legislation or policy. The Vision Statement and Guiding Principles are being presented for endorsement. Find the latest version here, with the full report available here. Project details continued to be updated on the dedicated website: saskatoon.ca/entertainmentdistrict. Additional reports of interest
